Stand up paddling (SUP) is something that I have been wanting to try for ages so was really excited to give it a go when we were on holiday. It is the first activity that we tried after all our briefings but I didn’t take my GoPro with me for that as just wanted to play in the water.
However a few days later I wanted to go out again and this time I did take my GoPro with me. Both times were great fun and really enjoyed getting out on the water by a different means.
I went for a bit of a paddle around the small bay while Kat had the GoPro to do some filming. My mum tried to knock me off but no such luck.
Cool angle of getting to see the bottom of the board from the water.
I then headed out to the larger bay area to have an explore.
Paddle power was the way to travel around on the water as there was no wind at all!
Few boats passed now and again to create some swell to play in.
The sea colour was truly amazing!
This picture shows the spit that we had to cross to get to the beach and all the toys.
After an explore around I met up with Kat who had been snorkelling.
I then got her to film under the water while I jumped off the board, thought it created a pretty cool photo and short film.
In that weather it was the perfect time to try out SUP and happy that I have now had the chance to do it. Don’t know whether I would pick it over kayaking but was good fun and would go out again.
