Last weekend we had organised a camping weekend with my Mum in the Cairngorms, we drove up from Glasgow and she was drove down in her campervan from up north for us all to meet up. We met up at Invernahavon Caravan site very close to Newtonmore; lovely campsite and a place that we will be going back to.
Though the weather wasn’t great all the time most of the bad weather was over night or early in the morning so that worked out really well for us. Was a lovely relaxing weekend and the first time that Kat and I had packed and gone away for purely happy reasons in months so that was great to have. Felt like a proper break and wee holiday way which is exactly what we needed.

We got plenty of time to chill out in the tent both in the mornings while having breakfast and then later on the day when getting back after our adventures.
Both days we headed to Loch Morlich to go for a bike ride around the forest tracks there. We knew it would be good ground for all three of us to cycle on plus being able to have Maia off the lead so that she could run along with us without having to worry.
On the Saturday we head up away from the Loch as there was a triathlon going on so wanted to avoid getting mixed up in that. Weren’t heading towards a particular spot just exploring one of the forest tracks and going for as long as we wanted to.
We stopped at this gate and headed back the way we came. Thought it was pretty cool to see a sign like this as quite unusual to see when out and about in Scotland.
Sunday we cycled around to the beach at the far end of the Loch and then back to the car park at the other end. Weather wasn’t as good on Sunday morning compared to Saturday so we were lucky to not get completely soaked!
My mum headed back home on Sunday and we stayed on for another night. Sunday afternoon we went for a walk down by the river beside the campsite.
Monday we decided to pack up and slowly make our way home. We went for a further walk along the river in the morning to give Maia a walk before we got in the car to head back to Glasgow.
Love all the colours in these photos, looking forward to getting more photos as the season changes.
Very enjoyable weekend and great to have with everything else that has been going on.
What lovely photos , hope the one with the lovely tree is still standing after the wind today !!
