In yesterdays blog I talked about that to have a goal you need to have a plan so I spent some time yesterday coming up with a plan for some of my goals over the next few months.
One of the goals is to do more walking for general fitness but also because planning on doing the West Highland way next May. So to achieve that decided that when going out for a dog walk aiming to do at least 3km, it isn’t a lot but want to start off slow and not try to set an unachievable goal at the beginning. If doing at least 3km every day then that is going to help. Also aiming once a week to do a 16km or more walk, for the next few months just with my normal pack size and weight. Then I will slowly start to increase the weight as part of the training.
The idea is to consistently build up how much walking I am doing , about wanting to push myself but also have it as a flexible and achievable goal for motivation and encouragement.
